PREMIER SERVICES
While BB Golf specializes in on-course custom fittings, we also offer a variety of Tour Van level services for our valued customers. These services are generally reserved for customers who have already gone through The Process, but we are still committed to offering many of these services to the best of our abilities for everyone who appreciates the commitment to detail and precision we provide.
Club Diagnostic Report - $100 per set
We highly recommend this service as a starting point for all our customers. We provide a detailed report that encompasses the exact specifications of your current clubs including loft, lie, length, frequency, swing weight, static weight, and MOI for your records. This provides a baseline for The Process and streamlines future club fittings, as it provides real data for club comparisons, yardage gapping and performance characteristics.
HOT MELT - $50 per club
Hotmelt is the process of adding an adhesive to the inside of a golf club head. This is generally done in woods, but some iron head designs allow for this service as well. Hotmelt is done to most, if not all clubs on the PGA Tour. It is used mostly for feel and sound dampening. However, it can also be used to create a bias in flight for both direction and height as well as manipulate spin as needed. We have also had success with repairing rattles, muting sound and increasing club head moment of inertia (MOI) with this service. BB Golf is one of the only custom shops on the west coast that offer this service. Please feel free to email BB Golf for more information regarding hotmelt services.
Frequency Matching Sets - Email for Details
Shaft frequency is the measurement of a shaft flex using electronic calibration to ensure the shaft flexes and feels the consistent with club in the bag. Every manufacturers flex rating may vary, one manufacturers stiff flex could be another company's regular flex and vice versa. Frequency matching can eliminate these variances and ensure you are playing the same flex throughout your set and all a clubs have the same feel throughout. Shaft frequency can be affected by club length, grip size, head weight, and hosel type. BB Golf takes all of these factors into consideration when we assemble your clubs, and no club will leave our shop without ensuring it is 100% accurate.
MOI Club Matching - Email for Details
Most golfers have heard of MOI as it relates to driver heads, but this is only one aspect of MOI in the golf club. Total club MOI can be used to balance a club that expands upon swing weight and makes the static measuring of clubs virtually obsolete. Wishon Golf, the inventor of this technique, provides this definition of the technology and concept behind MOI matching:
The MOI of any object is a measurement of its resistance to being put in motion around a defined axis of rotation. Golf clubs are swung in motion about the axis of either the spine or the unhinging of the wrist-cock angle when the club is released to hit the ball. If each club in a set requires a different amount of force to swing, the golfer cannot be as consistent swinging each different club in the set. In its most simple form, MOI matching scientifically makes each club require the same amount of effort to swing. This is what makes MOI matched clubs offer the potential for better shotmaking consistency than swing-weight matched clubs. Swing-weight matching does not make each club the same in terms of the amount of force required by the golfer to swing each club and hit the shot. MOI matching does. However, because golfers can be quite different in their strength, tempo and swing mechanics, the right MOI must be identified and custom fit for each golfer to allow the concept to properly work. BB Golf is one of very few fitters to offer MOI matching for our clients and have found great success in the sets we have built using this technique.
Once you have played an MOI matched set, you will most likely never go back to using swing weight as a gauge or play any sets balanced in this way. BB Golf is again one of very few custom shops on the west coast and is proud to offer this service. Please inquire for more details.
Custom Wedge Grinding
BB Golf can customize most wedge grinds as needed. Bounce is a very misunderstood concept in wedges, and there are many other factors to consider when choosing which wedge grind is best suited for your game. Factors like leading edge grind, camber and sole width, all of which can have just as profound effect on edge performance. Please inquire for more details from our wedge experts.
Vibration Insert - Email for details
BB Golf has designed proprietary open-cell vibration inserts that are used to dampen the impact vibrations in steel shafted golf clubs that cause pain in your wrists, shoulders and elbows without weakening the internal structure of your shafts. We also have prototype graphite sound frequency dampeners for woods that have yielded great results in reducing unwanted vibrations in longer woods. Please inquire for more details.
